Hello, I’m Leah Jones. Like most women, I have always struggled with unwanted hair. However, it wasn’t until my teenage daughter started showing signs of anxiety due to facial hair that I began looking into more permanent methods of hair removal. Until then, I had relied on waxing, bleaching, and plucking, but these methods were not suitable for her as the hair seemed to grow back faster and stronger.
After looking into various treatments, I soon discovered that electrolysis was the only hair removal method that offered a permanent solution. Although I was apprehensive, I managed to find a specialist nearby. The results were amazing, and within a few months, most of the unwanted hairs on her face were significantly reduced. Best of all, they did not grow back.
At the start of her treatment, we were living in Canada. Upon returning to Chichester, I sought an electrologist to continue her electrolysis treatment, which proved to be very difficult.
I soon realised that there was a genuine need for a compassionate electrolysis service in the Chichester, West Sussex, and Portsmouth areas, one that would specialize in permanent hair removal. This realisation marked the beginning of my journey as an electrologist.

FOR ELECTROLYSIS HAIR REMOVAL IN CHICHESTER & PORTSMOUTH
what is electrolysis ?
how does it work ?
With electrolysis, each hair is individually treated and destroyed using a very fine, pre-sterilised probe, which is disposable.
The probe is gently inserted into the hair follicle, which is a natural opening in the skin. A small amount of electrical current is then applied, heating and destroying the dermal papilla, which controls the development and growth of the hair.
There is a slight tingling and warm sensation, after which the hair is gently removed using tweezers. Since the hair is destroyed, it slides out easily without pulling, preventing any damage to the skin.
the equipment
I use an Apilus electrolysis machine because its advanced computerized settings and pinpoint accuracy allow me to provide treatments that are both effective and comfortable. Additionally, Apilus machines offer quicker and more permanent results compared to other electrolysis hair removal devices.
I have received in-depth training on Apilus machines, so you can undergo treatments with full confidence, knowing you are in the hands of a certified technician using ultramodern technology, equipment, and sterilised disposable probes.
electrolysis vs laser
The main difference lies in how the treatments are applied. Lasers use a mild form of radiation to damage the hair follicles. While this can slow down hair growth, it does not permanently stop it, and eventually, the hair will grow back, requiring additional treatments. In contrast, electrolysis permanently destroys the hair follicles’ ability to reproduce, effectively ending the cycle of hair growth.
Laser treatment targets the melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle and is mainly suited for people with light skin and dark hair. It is less effective for treating people with blond or grey hair, as well as those with dark, thin hairs. In contrast, electrolysis directly targets the hair follicle and can be used to treat any hair type, regardless of skin color.
Because Laser treatments cover a wider area, fewer sessions are needed. However, 6-8 sessions spread out over 6 weeks will still take nearly a year to complete. The success of the treatment also depends entirely on how suitable you are for it.
Electrolysis does take longer because each follicle has to be individually treated. However, you can choose the specific areas you want to treat, and the cost for smaller areas, such as the face, is usually lower. The best part is that once the treatment is completed, the hair is gone for good. Remember, electrolysis is the only medically proven and accepted form of permanent hair removal.

faq ?
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Electrolysis ?
Electrolysis treats every hair follicle individually. A very fine, disposable, sterile probe is inserted into the natural opening of the hair follicle alongside the hair shaft then a minute amount of current is applied which allows the hair to be easily removed while permanently destroying the follicle’s ability to reproduce.
Is Electrolysis suitable for me ?
Electrolysis is suitable for everyone regardless of gender, race, age or skin colour.
Is it painful ?
Although most people feel no discomfort there are some people who do. Therefore, the only way you will truly know is to experience it for yourself. With this in mind, I offer a free patch test during your initial consultation so you can try electrolysis for yourself and see if it is suitable for you.
Why should I choose electrolysis over other hair removal treatments ?
Unlike other hair removal options electrolysis is the only medically proven method for permanent hair removal.
Laser treatment is very effective and fast at covering large areas but it is not suitable for everyone and even in best-case scenarios only offers a temporary reduction in hair removal.
Waxing, threading and tweezing only offer a temporary solution and can cause ingrown hairs and an increase in hair growth.
Depilatories and shaving are also only temporary and can both cause skin irritation as well as cause the hair to grow faster.
All of these methods require a constant stream of maintenance and inconvenience which can be impractical especially if you suffer from excessive hair growth.
How long will it take to be hair free ?
Each session lasts between 10 mins to 1 hour. The number of treatments you will need depends on the size of the area to be treated and the length of each session. Although you can expect to see results after the first visit it is an ongoing process and will require a long-term commitment of at least several months. If you are looking for a quick fix electrolysis is not for you.
What happens after treatment ?
Electrolysis does take longer because every follicle has to be individually treated. Every session takes between 15 mins to 1 hour. However, you are able to determine the areas you want to be treated and the cost of doing smaller areas such as the face is almost always cheaper. The best part is that once treatment has been completed that’s it, no more hair. Remember, electrolysis is the only medically-proven and legally accepted form of permanent hair removal.
Why me ?
As someone who has personally suffered from unwanted hair I know first hand the effect it can have on your confidence and understand how insecure and miserable it can make you feel. I promise you will receive caring and understanding support, together with a total commitment to helping you become hair-free so you enjoy a hair-free life.
what you need to do before & after treatment
Pre-Treatment Care
There are a number of things that you can do prior to your appointment that will help achieve optimal results and keep you comfortable:
1/ Stop using other hair removal methods like waxing, threading and tweezing. Electrolysis will work a lot faster with more hairs present on your skin during treatment.
2/ A few days before treatment lightly exfoliate the skin to clear the hair follicles of debris.
3/ Use a gentle moisturizer regularly and drink plenty of water both the day before and the day of your electrolysis session. Hydrated and supple skin is more resilient, enhancing the effectiveness of the treatment.
4/ Avoid any skin treatments, including facials, sunbeds, microdermabrasion, skin rejuvenation treatments, or peels, within one week of the electrolysis session, as they can increase skin sensitivity.
5/ Do not wear makeup, foundation, or sunblock to the electrolysis session, as clean, bare skin ensures the best results and reduces the risk of skin irritation.
After Treatment Care
Following treatment, redness, mild swelling, and a warm sensation are all very common side effects. These aftercare recommendations will help keep you feeling comfortable:
1/ Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated
2/ Avoid direct sunlight on the treated area for 24 hours. If sun exposure is unavoidable, use sunscreen with SPF30 or higher.
3/ Avoid contact with oily, soapy, perfumed or alcohol-based products until skin is back to normal.
4/ Avoid using makeup products on the treated area for 12-24 hours after the treatment to prevent clogging the hair follicles.
5/ Do not use other hair removal methods in between sessions, instead come right away for treatment.
6/ Do not exercise vigorously for 48hrs following electrolysis treatment. Sweat can irritate treated skin
7/ Lightly apply a soothing gel or cream, such as aloe vera, to the treated areas to calm any redness or inflammation.

advanced electrolysis for BLEMISH REMOVAL
SAFE, FAST & EFFECTIVE REMOVAL OF SKIN BLEMISHES
If you are tired of living with unwanted skin blemishes I can help. Through the use of advanced electrolysis I can offer you a safe, fast and effective way to remove the following unwanted blemishes: Skin Tags, Bloodspots, Milia, Facial Thread Veins and Facial Spider Veins.
What is Advanced Electrolysis ?
Advanced electrolysis offers a fast, safe, and effective way to remove unwanted skin blemishes. It is a specialised form of electrolysis that can precisely target and eliminate blemishes. A very fine, sterilised probe delivers a gentle electric current to the skin blemish. This current heats the tissue and removes the blemish without surgery or scarring.
Advanced Electrolysis vs Other Blemish Removal Treatments
Precise & Versatile – Advanced electrolysis allows for precise and targeted treatment of blemishes including sensitive or intricate areas unlike some other methods that may have limitations due to the type or location of the blemish. For instance, cryotherapy and laser therapy may be difficult to apply accurately in sensitive or hard to reach areas.
Non-Invasive – Unlike other procedures like cryotherapy, laser therapy, or electrocautery, advanced electrolysis is non-evasive and the recovery time is minimal. The treatment is performed without the need for surgical incisions or lengthy healing periods, allowing you to resume your daily activities soon after treatment. It poses minimal risk of scarring or pigmentation changes and is a suitable treatment for most skin types.
How long does treatment take ?
Each session lasts between 10 mins to 1 hour. The number of treatments you will need depends on the number of blemishes to be treated and the length of each session. You can expect to see immediate results.
Why me ?
Advanced electrolysis should only be performed by a fully trained advanced electrologist like myself. My expertise will allow me to assess your skin condition, determine the suitability of advanced electrolysis for your specific blemish and perform the procedure safely.

ELECTROLYSIS FOR PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL
Electrolysis is the only medically recognised treatment for the permanent removal of unwanted facial & body hair

I have received in-depth training on Apilus machines, so you can undergo treatments with full confidence, knowing you are in the hands of a certified technician using ultramodern technology, equipment, and sterilised disposable probes.

electrolysis vs laser ?
Remember, electrolysis is the only medically proven and accepted form of permanent hair removal.
what is electrolysis ?
how does it work ?
With electrolysis, each hair is individually treated and destroyed using a very fine, pre-sterilised probe, which is disposable.
The probe is gently inserted into the hair follicle, which is a natural opening in the skin. A small amount of electrical current is then applied, heating and destroying the dermal papilla, which controls the development and growth of the hair.
There is a slight tingling and warm sensation, after which the hair is gently removed using tweezers. Since the hair is destroyed, it slides out easily without pulling, preventing any damage to the skin.

FIf If you suffer from unwanted facial hair I can help you if you live in Chichester, West Sussex & Portsmouth

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Electrolysis ?
Electrolysis treats every hair follicle individually. A very fine, disposable, sterile probe is inserted into the natural opening of the hair follicle alongside the hair shaft. A minute amount of current is then applied which allows the hair to be easily removed while permanently destroying the follicle’s ability to reproduce.
Is Electrolysis suitable for me ?
Electrolysis is suitable for everyone regardless of gender, race, age or skin colour.
Is it painful ?
Although most people feel no discomfort there are some people who do. The only way you will truly know is to experience it for yourself, this is why I offer a free patch test during your initial consultation so you can try electrolysis for yourself and see if it is suitable for you.
If you are looking for a quick fix electrolysis is not right for you.
